Chronic Disease
|
The issues inherent in a chronic condition, whether it be present from birth (like scoliosis) or acquired
in adulthood (such as chronic pain or from diseases like Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson's) can be more deep-seated and complicated than
healing from an acute injury.
|
Goals in addressing chronic conditions must be three-fold; they should: 1) address your current symptoms; 2) avoid exacerbation of symptoms;
3) help manage the stress and potential impact on your self-image, family/social roles, and adjustment to modifications in activities that
frequently attend living with a chronic condition.

What To Expect From Your First Appointment
|
| On your first appointment Jennifer will ask for a detailed history of your chronic illness starting from childhood. The same illness can
present itself very differently in each individual. Through hearing your story she will assess your unique situation. As part of your
treatment plan one can expect, in addition to acupuncture, diet & lifestyle counseling, supplements and Chinese herbal therapy, moxibustion,
and therapeutic Qi Gong exercises. |
